Identification
Total length of 50 cm, including a 30 cm long tail. Large myna with a very long tail. Black eye contour, dark blue-black head, wings, breast and tail. White nape, upper back and breast. Subspecies with black and yellow bill.

Range and habitat
The species is endemic to Sulawesi and nearby smaller islands. Subspecies found on Muna, Buntung and south Sulawesi. Lives in primary and secondary forests up to 1500 m. Avoids modified habitats.

Status : The species is poorly known but still believed to be locally common. It is declining because of habitat loss in most of its range.
