Identification
Adults can reach 16.5 cm in length for a weight of 41 g. Male has black head with two white stripes, olive-yellow back, dull yellow belly and orange collar and breast patch. Female is dull olive-yellow with darker olive spotting.

Range and habitat
The species occurs in the Carribean archipelago and is endemic to the island of Puerto Rico. Lives in all kinds of forests and woodlands.

Status : The species is endemic to a single island but remains common and safe overall, mostly because it can occur in a very wide variety of habitats.
