Identification
The smallest known mantella species, reaching a length of 2.2 cm. Dark grey to dark brown coloration with darker flanks. Limbs are bright yellow, becoming orange brown. Horseshoe marking on throat. Blue spots on belly.

Range and habitat
The species is endemic to a small area of South-eastern Madagascar, between Mangevo to Manambondro. Only occurs in rainforests, mostly in degraded rainforests, up to 680 m.

IUCN RED LIST : VULNERABLE
CITES : Appendix II
Status : This species has a very small fragmented range. It is still declining because of over collection for animal trade and deforestation.
