Identification
Adults can grow to 4.8 cm in length, females being larger than males. Large dark eyes. Coloration is either greenish-turquoise or brown with longitudinal bands. Some turquoise specimens display faint yellowish spotting.

Range and habitat
The species is found in eastern Africa and is endemic to Tanzania. It occurs in a few localities in the Eastern Arc mountains. Lives in hill forests, forest edges, plantations, from 550 to 1800 meters.

IUCN RED LIST : NEAR THREATENED
CITES : Not listed
Status : The species is declining in most of its range because of habitat loss and pollution. It has a small geographical range, could be uplisted to Vulnerable.
