Identification
The species grows to 6.8 cm in body length with females being bigger than males. Visible longitudinal ridges on back, triangle-shaped snout. Coloration beige to brown with dark markings. White to green longitudinal band on back.

Range and habitat
The species occurs in subsaharan Africa, from Senegal to Ethiopia, south to Angola, Namibia and Zimbabwe. It also occurs on Madagascar and Mauritius. Lives in dry and wet forests, swamps, grasslands and man-made habitats.
