Identification
Small poison-frog growing to about 22 mm in length. Large dark eyes. Coloration range is astonishingly varied, ranging from pure bright red, sometimes with blue limbs, to yellow with black spots and many other colors.

Range and habitat
The species occurs on the Atlantic versant of Central America from northern Central Nicaragua to northwest Panama and some Islands in Bocas del Toro. Lives in humid lowland and premontane forests, also found in plantations.

IUCN RED LIST : LEAST CONCERN
CITES : Appendix II
Status : The species is experiencing local declines because of habitat loss and overcollecting. It still remains numerous and can tolerate habitat modification.
