Notes : No subspecies known.

Identification
Adult females can grow up to 7.7 cm, males around 5 cm. Unmistakable. Huge bright red eyes. Coloration mostly bright green with yellow-striped blue flanks and bright orange feet.

Range and habitat
The species occurs in Central America from southern Mexico (States of Veracruz and Oaxaca), south to Caribbean side of Panama. Lives in tropical lowland and montane forests, always near water.

IUCN RED LIST : LEAST CONCERN
CITES : Appendix II
Status : The species is still fairly common, at least locally, but can be threatened by capture of adults for pet trade and habitat destruction.
