Identification
The species can reach about 6 cm in length, males smaller than females. Silvery grey eyes with slight orange tinge. Back and flanks bright green. White lips and throat. Lower flanks, belly and inside of legs striped orange and black.

Range and habitat
The species is found in South America, in most of the Amazonian basin, east of the Andes, from south Venezuela and Brazil to Bolivia. Lives in pristine tropical rainforests, often close to water and humid areas.

IUCN RED LIST : LEAST CONCERN
CITES : Not listed
Status : The species is still locally common like in Surinam. Its dependence on pristine forests makes it potentially vulnerable to habitat loss.
