Identification
The species can reach 6 cm in length for a weight of 7 grams. Warty skin. Coloration green with dark grey lower flanks and belly. Some specimens are brown with dark mottling. White belly. Inside of legs is bright yellow or orange.

Range and habitat
The species occurs in North America and is found in south-east Canada and most of eastern USA, west to Oklahoma and Texas. Lives in wooded areas near temporary or permanent water, even in suburban areas.

Status : The species is quite common within its large range and can adapt to a number of different habitats. Collected in small numbers for the pet trade.
