Identification
Adults can reach a total length of 6.2 cm. Smooth skin and long legs. Females are larger than males. Coloration from bright green to light yellow-green or brown with faint golden spots on back. White belly. White stripe on flanks and cheeks.

Range and habitat
The species occurs in North America and is endemic to USA, being found in eastern and central parts of the country, from Virginia to Florida, east to Texas. Lives in swamps, marshes, ponds, rivers and streams with aquatic vegetation.

IUCN RED LIST : LEAST CONCERN
CITES : Not Listed
Status : The species has a fairly large range and remains globally common despite habitat modification. Captured for the pet trade but that’s no threat.
