Identification
Adults can grow to a length of 10 cm. Thick legs covered with pointy and hairy warts (looking like goosebumps). Coloration mostly bright red with clear rings on legs. Very thick and long ringed eye peduncles with green eyes.

Range and habitat
The species occurs in the eastern Atlantic, from Portugal to Cape Verde islands and around the Mediterranean Sea. Found in not too steep rocky areas with boulders, from 5 to 100 meters deep.

Status : The species seems to be safe at this time although, in many areas, its habitat has been potentially polluted or damaged by human activities.
