Notes : No subspecies known.

Identification
Adults can reach up to 3 cm in carapace length. Carapace is squarish with eyes set far apart. Claws are large, other legs flattened. Coloration is black with golden mottling on back. Red claws, underside shows bright blue or green markings.

Range and habitat
The species occurs in South-East Asia, in far southern Malaysia and Singapore. Lives in mangroves with exposed muddy bottoms.

CITES : Not listed
Status : The species hasn’t been assessed. It is common to abundant in suitable habitat. Probably vulnerable to habitat degradation and pollution.
