Identification
Bell diameter reaching up to 25 cm with 8 scalloped petal-shaped lobes from which the tentacles extend. Four separate mouth arms with frilled edges, pink to yellow with red freckles. Bell color highly variable, sometimes with streaks.

Range and habitat
The species is found in the Atlantic, Indian and western Pacific Oceans. Lives in temperate, subtropical and tropical waters, mostly near coasts. It is also found in waters with low salinity and even into rivers.

IUCN RED LIST : NOT LISTED
CITES : Not listed
Status : Not assessed, common to abundant in most of its range. This species, like all Chrysaora, is a source of type II collagen for curing joint pain.
