Identification
Large jellyfish reaching a bell diameter of around 60 cm. Translucent greyish-white bell with distinctive yellow-orange center forming a dome. 16 clusters of about 12 tentacles, whitish and filamentous, reaching up to 6 meters in length.

Range and habitat
The species occurs in cool and temperate waters in most oceans and seas around the world. Lives in open sea, usually not too far from shores, in cool and temperate waters.

CITES : Not listed
Status : The species has a huge range and can be locally abundant depending on season and food availability. Its status isn’t assessed so far.
