Identification
Each of these colonial anemones can reach a diameter of 8 cm but are usually smaller. Flat, usually thin and smooth open-flower-like structure with small mouth opening. Coloration highly variable, ranging from bright red to striped green.

Range and habitat
The species has a huge range, going from Red Sea and East Africa to Indonesia, Great Barrier Reef and around Pacific ocean islands. Occurs in all kinds of reef environments.

CITES : Not listed
Status : The species seems to be very common in the wild although its status has yet to be assessed. Might be vulnerable to water quality change.
