Identification
Adults can reach up to 70 cm in length. Slender body, long head with big eyes. Ground coloration is grey to dull light brown. Big light grey-brown irregular blotches edged with dark brown or black on back and flanks.

Range and habitat
This species occurs in the Caribbean archipelago, on Puerto Rico, American and British Virgin Islands. It lives in grasslands and woodlands.

IUCN RED LIST : ENDANGERED
CITES : Appendix I
Status : The species is endangered and alarmingly declining because of high rate of habitat destruction in most of its range. It is now strictly protected.
