Identification
Adults can grow to about 2.10 m in length. Head is long and broad, not very distinct from body. This subspecies has a dull yellow belly. Flanks and back are olive-green to brown with yellowish mottling giving a reticulated aspect.

Range and habitat
The species is endemic to central Indonesia. This subspecies is found on Timor, Semao and Roti islands. Lives in forested areas and woodlands.

IUCN RED LIST : LEAST CONCERN
CITES : Appendix II
Status : The species is at least locally threatened. Subspecies savuensis is possibly near extinction because of trapping and loss of habitat.
